The most beautiful thing about this song is how everyone thinks of their own superhero while listening to it. Some people thought of their mothers, grandmothers, sisters, friends, girlfriends, teachers. Even though the 'superhero' differs from person to person, EVERYONE has one. That I think is just beautiful.

To be honest, the love story of Martin and Diana occurs a huge number of times everyday around the globe; however, the magic of it is that one random guy wrote one random note in the tour of an artist he didn't know personally, and from all those notes, his note caught Lauv's eye and lead to the making of this song and (hopefully) Martin and Diana getting back together. That's nothing short of a miracle. I sincerely hope from the bottom of my heart for every single person who honestly loves another, to reach his/her beloved, even when faced with the most difficult of situations. I didn't reach mine, and that's something I'll think about for the rest of my days until my flesh leaves my bones and my bones turn to ash. But I hear wind carries the ashes of lovers and reunites them, that's why we have so many deserts. Pretty awesome, right?

This song is not about me and I'm not trying to make it that. I just need to talk is all. I am 26 year old, I am a brother, I am from the Bay Area and I lost my older sister on July 30th of this year. She suffered brain damage in her sensory and motor cortex sometime during the 3rd week into May (I was away in college when it happened) and later passed in July due to a blood and bowel infection. For over 10+ years, she battled with an eating disorder that eroded and destroyed many parts of her body. She also contracted Celiac, Crohns, and ehlers danlos syndrome. However, when she finally denounced her eating disorder lifestyle, she became something else. Though she struggled with the irreversible physical damage the diseases had wrought, she always attempted to make me and my brother smile everyday with little things like notes and texts whenever she could. She would bake these amazing things for our families and other families. She began to coupon in the last couple years so she could save up and share things with those less fortunate. She made an exponential effort to make those around her comfortable all the while suffering from intense physical pain. In the final couple weeks before her brain damage, she was at her happiest. Our family visited us and I got to see her smile in a way that hurts me to think about. I only wish I could have been home to see it. To say I miss her doesn't quite cut it but I don't wanna preach anymore. Bottom line is, I lost my sister. I lost my mentor. I lost my partner and like the song, I lost my superhero but I don't know how to let her go. Thank you Lauv, I know you didn't make this song for me or anyone like me however, I appreciate the beautiful coincidence that this song can explain such a difficult feeling better than I can at the moment. Love your music. Found you in 2015 with "Reforget" and can't wait to see you hopefully in Concert someday. Many Blessings to everyone and anyone who read this.

Since I could walk, I had a best friend and we were always together. She was the reason I was always happy. We did many things together, she was part of the family. In high school, we did not go to the same school and I was very sad about that. She was very busy with personal things and we couldn't see each other very often because of that, but we keept talking on the phone and we were always in each other's hearts. We grew older. She started paying less attention to me. She made new friends. I was just overthinking things, I was always depressed. One day I wasn't feeling well, we were texting and I said something I shouldn't. I hurt her through the words, even if I didn't want to. We started a fight (our first one in a long time) and I said that I wanted to see her to talk. We reunited and talked, then I started crying, asking why this was happening to me. She was hesitant, but then she hug me. It's like the world was bright again. But I quickly realised that after a couple days, things weren't improving. We kept fighting and fighting. Then she said to me a thing I will never forget : she said : "Let's stop and just be friends." At that instant, my heart just broke. I didn't want to be just friend! She was my best friend and I loved her!. Our relationship started improving worse. I couldn't take it anymore. I hurt her again through words, and she totally reject me back. Since that time I had talked to her after but each time she was cold. so I stopped fighting. 1 year passed.This song really make me think of her and each time I just can't control me.. I still love her and I wish I had act otherwise. I lost her, I want her back... Sorry for this long text but thanks for the people who read it. Everyone, cherish your relationships with all your hearts, they are the most precious things in the world. I'm still fighting to not be depressed, and trying my best to not think about her too much.. I hope she's feeling well and I will always have a place for her in my heart.
