Man, this song is really an important marker for the progression of music- how the topics music covers is really diversifying, how people are becoming more open to talking about their personal mental well being, how unique our generations experience of depression is (surrounded by so much, with so many open opportunities, but at the same time so lonely and how individualistic we are all expected to be- not sharing our struggles, always striving to reach out "full potential", selfishly ambitious, shamelessly achievement oriented, fiercely independent and not to mention mind bogglingly "successful"). The lyrics are so simple but they speak to so many people on a personal level. This song really gives me hope, hope for the normalization of not fitting into the world's expectations of successful, happy etc.,hope that we realize vulnerability is okay, that we're all as insecure, as lonely as the other person and ultimately hope for people to realize that EVERYONE has their own struggles whether or not they're open about it. Man Lauv really deserves a big thank you from us, because he's really out there speaking about things we can't be open about, he's really out there speaking for us and speaking to us and all the others who feel they're in it alone. I don't know why but being an introvert really sucks for me. I wish I was an extrovert, instead. Whenever I try to start a conversation with my friends, it always end up being a small talk. I want to deepen my relationships and support them through problems but I just can't. Maybe I'm scared that I might say something wrong because my socializing skills are so level -9000 and I really bore them in long conversations. I suck at expressing myself, the only thing I can give them are inspirational quotes, memes and normal tips but I don't think its enough. People are trying to show other side of them, they're trying to keep everything with themselves and it's super sad. We have a lot of people around with who we can talk. This song... It reminds me of when a girl told me once that she never texts first, but she's lonely and wants to talk to people... But what if everyone is waiting for everyone else to text first? Nobody is going to communicate that way. So talk to people! Call them, even though most people don't do that anymore, text them first, even if it starts off awkward, it will get better! If you want to be around people, a lot of them are too afraid of awkward silences or odd beginnings to initiate it, but especially if you're a teenager, we're all lonely! We might act like we're fine but if you're thinking about someone, leave them a message saying that you were! Chances are it will make their day. If you're lonely, I totally get it. Modern loneliness will always my number 1 of lauv's song

This is just my opinion and you don't have to take it too serious. As a child, I imagined life would be so much fun, I thought I would spend my free time on vacations around friends cheering, and feeling so confident, but I was wrong "Living just in a fairytale". My free time means nothing else than watching KZbin videos, Netflix shows, or maybe reading (ocasionally). I am also very introvert and making friends or keeping up with them is so much more dificult than I portrayed inside my head. It's a very sad feeling, and the fact that I am 19 makes me feel more depressed because it's the age when you discover the world, and I am not supposed to stay at home everyday. In the past I was also bullied because I was shy, I was even called gay (It doesn't bother me much this because I don't care) and it's disturbing people picking up on you when you did nothing harmful to them. Also, I am a scorpio (even thought it doesn't matter, it's just the fact that I get angrier easily, which sucks), but I agree with everybody's opinions, we all have something to say and it's right 💓. With my family, I don't talk too much, I have a brother that even stole my money and we are all screaming at each other :((. I've been hurt in childhood by people and my parents and this is the reason why I am like this today and I stay lonely. It's good to be alone sometimes, because as an introvert this is how I charge my batteries, but being alone too much is heart-breaking and depressing 😞. If you read this until the end, I want you all guys to know that you are loved, you are worth it, you have a meaning in this world. I don't want anyone to get hurt by mean people who are gonna cause rather harm than throwing positive words to you, because it will be so hurting, especially when it comes from the ones that you love and are closer to you than you think. You are all amazing, and I hope one day, even if I like it sooner, we will no more be alone and may find the real happines and enjoy life with charming people 💓💓💓
